A Legacy of Learning
Gerri Boyd was a familiar face in the local health care setting, graduating from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1964, and then working as a nurse at Tschetter & Hohm Clinic for nearly 30 years. She worked as an infection control specialist at Huron Regional Medical Center until she retired in 2002.
After Gerri passed away in April 2021, her family began considering ways to honor her memory. It was natural the conversation would center on nursing. “Nursing was very close to her heart, and Gerri was just the absolute best nurse,” says Rod Boyd, her husband of 56 years.
The family recently made a $5,000 donation to the HRMC Foundation’s Healthy Huron scholarship fund in Gerri’s name to help ensure that Huron and the surrounding areas have highly trained medical professionals needed to offer the best possible care for generations to come.
We are grateful for the impact Gerri made on the health of our community. This gift is the perfect way to honor her memory and help a student who may follow in her footsteps.
