 Our Work

 

Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC). Our goal is to support the health and wellbeing of our community and ensure high-quality health care is always available close to home. Right here in Huron.

The HRMC Foundation was created in 1995 to anticipate and meet the ongoing needs of our regional hospital no matter the changes and evolution in health care. Early on, we supported improved patient care, state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and updates to HRMC facilities. Today, the foundation continues the important work of supporting HRMC to provide the highest quality care possible close to home.

To support the health and wellbeing of our community members we make investments in PEOPLE, TECHNOLOGY and WELLNESS.

 

 A new generation of medical professionals

The foundation engages the next generation of medical professionals by providing Huron area students with career guidance—and scholarships—to study medicine so they can return home to work at our hospital. We support the recruitment and retention of medical professionals by offering new and continuing educational opportunities and other support. In partnership with Southeast Technical Institute and Huron Community Campus, we provide a nursing program that allows licensed professional nurses the opportunity to become registered nurses—and remain in our community. Investing in people who want to commit their careers to medical care, and who want to have those careers in the Huron area, is an important part of keeping our community health and health care close to home.

 

Investing in technology

The foundation invests in the latest technological advancements—and the people who power them—often not found in rural communities. In so doing, HRMC continues to offer the best care possible in Huron, and support our community members if they are transferred to hospitals and specialists out of the area when their care requires it.

At the foundation, we take a pro-active approach to health in Huron by investing in the economic, social and physical wellness of our community. We offer expanded educational programs in schools and the greater community, as well as resources and support to keep community members healthy. We also make careful investments in initiatives that broadly support community health.
