HRMC Foundation Awards $10,000 in Healthcare Scholarships
Encouraging students to further their education while pursuing a career in a healthcare field is a goal of the HRMC Foundation.
The Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Foundation announces the recipients of 15 scholarships totaling $10,000, according to Dr. Jesse Fast, foundation scholarship committee chair.
“Our goal with these scholarships is to encourage students to further their education while pursuing a career in a healthcare field and also encourage HRMC employees and their children in their educational pursuits,” said Dr. Fast. “We had a lot of high-quality applicants and are pleased to assist the following individuals as they further their education.”
HRMC Foundation Scholarship Recipients:
Kristina Boetel, RN, who works as a nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a doctorate of nursing practice/family practice degree from South Dakota State University (SDSU)
Cari Cavanaugh, of De Smet, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing at SDSU
Aaron Diekhoff, of Wessington, who is the son of Vicki Deikhoff a nurse who works in HRMC’s dialysis unit, and is pursuing an electrical engineering degree at South Dakota State University in the fall
Samantha Dowling, of Alpena, who is the daughter of Stacie Dowling who works in marketing at HRMC, and is pursuing a bachelor of nursing at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa
Rebecca Goehner, RN, of Huron, who works as a registered nurse on HRMC’s medical floor, and is pursuing a master of nursing practice/family medicine degree from SDSU
Kennedy Fast, of Iroquois, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing degree at SDSU
Kelsey Hupp, RN, of Tulare, who works as a nurse in HRMC’s dialysis unit, is pursuing a family nurse practitioner master’s degree at Kaplan University
Isis Insua, of Huron, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing at Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) in Mitchell, SD
Shannon Katz, of Huron, who is pursuing a degree in pharmacy at SDSU
Dustin Price, of Huron, who is the son of Shane Price who works in maintenance and is pursuing a degree in wildlife management at Black Hills State University in Spearfish
Jacob Rieger, of Huron, who is the son of Kim Rieger who works in marketing at HRMC, and is planning to pursue an exercise science or pre-med degree at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD
Katlyn Rostyne, RN, who works as a nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a family nurse practitioner master’s degree at Maryville University
Lisa Tschetter, of Huron, who is pursuing a degree in nursing from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD
Teri Weidner-Eichstadt, RN, of Wolsey, who works as a nurse in the maternity unit at HRMC, and is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing from DWU
Victoria Win, of Huron, is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing at DWU
“The HRMC Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial support to individuals who are pursuing a career in a healthcare field while ensuring that the Huron area continues to have quality, dedicated healthcare staff,” explained Dr. Fast. “We sincerely appreciate all of the applicants who took the time to apply, as well as our dedicated donors who make this scholarship program possible.”
