After graduation these students commit to returning to Huron to work in a community medical facility for a set period of time.
“There are currently over 30 health care professionals working at HRMC and other health care facilities in the community that were Healthy Huron Commitment Scholarship Recipients,” said Kary. “Through the generosity of our donors, this program has made a significant difference in the quality of health care in Huron now and well into the future.”
In addition to these scholarships, the board also awarded 13 Interest scholarships to students from the region who have an interest in a health care career but are not ready to make a commitment to return here and work. These recipients will be announced in the future.
