Golfing for a Cause Event Raises $7,000 to Support 3D Mammography
The Golfing for a Cause breast cancer awareness tournament, which was held on August 4 at Broadland Creek National Golf Course, raised more than $7,000 to help support early detection. This year, the Foundation took over the longtime event, which has raised money for the "We've Got You Covered" over the years.
This year, the HRMC Foundation took the lead in coordinating the long-time event that has raised money over the years for the "We've Got You Covered" program which provides screening mammograms for women in need.
Proceeds from this year's tournament supported the purchase of a new 3D Mammography system at Huron Regional Medical Center. This new technology at HRMC will help improve outcomes for women by offering greater accuracy for detecting cancer at more treatable stages and reducing false positives.
A field of 60 golfers enjoyed a day of golf and games with pin prizes and raffle items donated by local businesses. Presenting sponsors were Ace Realty, Kraus-Anderson Construction and HRMC. Additional support was provided by Carr Chiropractic Clinic PC, Duane's Carpet Outlet, F&M Bank and A1 Storage.
