Papa Luigi Raises $42,000 for HRMC Foundation

Lions, clowns, fortune tellers and strong men gathered at the Huron Event Center to have some Circus fun and raise money to secure the future of quality local health care.

More than 300 guests attended the 17th annual “A Night with Papa Luigi,” raising  more than $42,000 for the Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation, according to Paul Rann, executive director of the HRMC Foundation.

Papa Luigi hosted a night at “The Circus” on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Huron Event Center. Guests and local “celebrity” hosts dressed in a wide variety of costumes while raising money for the HRMC Foundation.

“Once again, the community demonstrated its unyielding support for high-quality, local health care," explained Rann. “Thank you to everyone who attended the Papa Luigi event, the ‘celebrity’ hosts, the planning committee members and, of course, all of the sponsors – without their support, this event would not have been as successful as it was.”

Funds raised through sponsorships, dinner tickets, tips and other donations will be used to support the mission of the HRMC Foundation. The funds will help provide scholarships to future medical professionals, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, ensure the best facilities are available and plan for the future needs of health care in Huron.

“Mark your calendar for next year’s event, which is scheduled for March 4, 2017,” said Rann. “Papa Luigi will be going to the Kentucky Derby, and we hope you can make the trip!”

The purpose of the HRMC Foundation is to raise gift income each year, which is used to support and endow the maintenance and enhancement of healthcare services on behalf of HRMC. Papa Luigi is one of two major fundraising events that benefit the Foundation – and, ultimately, health care in the area. Pictures from this year’s Papa Luigi event are posted online.
