HRMC Foundation Awards $9,000 in Scholarships
Fourteen students from the area recently received $500 to $1,000 scholarships from the Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation.
The Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Foundation announces the recipients of 14 scholarships totaling $9,000, according to Dr. Jesse Fast, foundation board chairman and scholarship committee chair.
“Our goal with these scholarships is to encourage students to further their education while pursuing a career in a healthcare field and also encourage HRMC employees and their children in their educational pursuits,” said Dr. Fast. “We had a lot of high-quality applicants and are pleased to assist the following individuals as they further their education.”
HRMC Foundation Scholarship Recipients:
Katelyn Allerdings, who is the daughter of Jeannie Allerdings, a billing clerk at HRMC, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in accounting at the University of South Dakota
Joanna Bott, RN, who works as a nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a degree in massage therapy at Springs Bath House School of Massage
Taylor Flanery, who is the daughter of Adele Flanery, a physical therapist at HRMC, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Mount Marty College
Rebecca Goehner, who is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at the University of South Dakota
Greta Hinricher, who is the daughter of Earl and Melanie Hinricher, pharmacists at HRMC, is pursuing a degree in medical laboratory technology at Mitchell Technical Institute
Kelsey Hupp, RN, who works as a nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a family nurse practitioner master’s degree at Kaplan University
Erin Isackson, who is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at South Dakota State University
Raleigh Larson, RN, who works as a nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at South Dakota State University
Katlyn Rostyne, RN, who works as a surgery nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a family nurse practitioner master’s degree at Maryville University
Sarah Seidel, RD, who works as a dietitian at HRMC, is pursuing a nutrition, exercise, and food science/dietetics master’s degree at South Dakota State University
Lindsay Slepikas, who is pursuing a registered nurse associate of applied science degree at Southeast Technical Institute
Jerrod Sterrett, who is the son of Jodi Sterrett, a pharmacist technician at HRMC, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in sports medicine – athletic training at the University of North Dakota
Rebekah Storm, RN, who works as a nurse at HRMC, is pursuing a doctorate of nursing practice/family practice degree at South Dakota State University
Andrew Uttecht, who is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in applied biological sciences at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology
“The HRMC Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial support to individuals who are pursuing a career in a healthcare field while ensuring that the Huron area continues to have quality, dedicated healthcare staff,” explained Dr. Fast. “We sincerely appreciate all of the applicants who took the time to apply, as well as our dedicated donors who make this scholarship program possible.”
